Workspaces around the University
There are also a number of workspaces for postgraduates on the 6th floor of the John Medley Building. All offices contain two or more workspaces, some of which have computers (linked to the printer in Room 631). Lockers are also available for casual use or allocation.
Applications for workspaces on the 6th floor will be called for in two formal rounds of applications, held each year in April and October, for 6-month allocations.
Graduate Centre
The Graduate Centre has study rooms available for research students, for use on a time-share or room-share basis. Carrels are booked by the semester and preference is given to students in the writing-up stage of their research. Graduate Centre study rooms are allocated by UMPA. The Baillieu Library has a limited number of carrels available to both MA and PhD candidates, while only PhD students may apply for the very limited number (21) of offices. Enquire at the Loans Desk in the Baillieu Library.
Faculty of Arts study spaces
The Faculty of Arts provides a limited number of postgraduate study spaces to Masters by research and PhD students. Preference is given to students in the final stages of their candidature.
