This interdisciplinary field is concerned with cultural analysis and communication, cultural identities and media, cultural texts (from movies to Mardi gras, television to the Internet), the workings of cultural power, the consumption of cultural commodities, and the interrelations of popular, national and global cultures and subcultures as they are experienced in everyday life.

Creative Writing
The Creative Writing program offers a dynamic environment in which to acquire and develop essential skills in creative writing.
You will have an opportunity to explore a number of subjects and study areas - fiction and non-fiction writing, poetry, editing, and script and performance writing - which will provide an opportunity to produce your own work under the guidance of professional writers and teachers. Some of our graduates - such as Anna Funder, Maria Hyland and Josiane Behmoiras - have gone on to international acclaim. All staff work across the genres and are proud of the degree of experimentalism that they foster.
