Cultural Management: PhD thesis reporting and meeting requirements

The materials required are:
MSGR PhD Progress Report
One copy of:
1. MSGR Progress Report Form, sent directly to you by SGR and completed with your supervisor, but not signed
Three copies of:
2. Report on Research Program (requested on page 2 of MSGR Progress Report Form) consisting of:
- timelines, your position on timeline, and stage now reached in relation to your overall research plan
- any problems you have encountered that have hindered successful progress
- the work still to be completed and the proposed timeline
- how far you have proceeded in writing your thesis ie. detailed thesis outline, number of chapters completed
- list of any publications/presentations
School Review
Three copies of:
Students submitting their first report at the 12 month mark should write a report (not more than 2,000 words) including:
- a statement of the research focus, methodology, and a literature review;
- identification of any resource requirements, eg. fieldwork funding.
Students submitting any subsequent reports can include any new draft chapters that they wish to have included for discussion.
Thesis outline
PhD theses in Humanities tend to have, on average, seven to eight chapters, of up to 12,000 words each. Your chapter outlines should clearly indicate the differences between the chapters, what research question/s each chapter will address, what source material will be used in each chapter, and how the chapter sequence forms a cumulative, coherent whole.
