School of Culture & Communication Creative Writing

Creative Writing postgraduate seminars

Seminars

During semester, the various disciplines within the school hold staff/graduate research seminars in which local and guest speakers read a research paper, followed by discussion. You are strongly encouraged to attend and are welcome to offer papers or suggest visiting speakers. Details of the events are circulated by email.

Reading Groups

The School of Culture and Communication also features a number of reading groups designed to bring together graduates and staff with shared research interests and to foster an atmosphere of collegiality. Presentations range from more formally structured papers to open discussion of ideas and work in progress. Participation in reading groups, which can take differing forms, means that you can hone your presentation skills and also get feedback from fellow researchers.

Graduate students also organise their own reading groups and details are again circulated by email. You are strongly encouraged to attend and take advantage of this opportunity to meet other graduate students and share ideas.

If you believe you are missing out on these email circulars, please contact the Research Administrators (and make sure you have activated your University email account).
