Creative Writing: Special Consideration
Applications for Special Consideration are submitted online through the Student Information System.
You should apply for Special Consideration if you think your work has been adversely afftected by circumstances beyond your control such as illness, family responsibilities or emotional disturbances. Your application will be assessed by the Faculty of Arts Special Consideration Committee and you and your subject lecturer will be notified of the outcome via email. Applications for Special Consideration must be submitted within three days of the due date. Late applications will not be considered.
School of Culture and Communication Special Consideration Policy
Students can apply for Special Consideration under the following circumstances:
1. you have applied to your subject lecturer for an extension of time for submission of the assessment and you are still not able to meet this new extended due date.
2. you require a long extension of timne and your work will not be available for assessment before the formal release of final results by the University.

The requested supporting documentation is to be submitted to the Faculty of Arts and Music Student Support Centre located on the ground floor of the Old Arts building.
You should attach a copy of the email form the Faculty of Arts approving and extension or other outcome for your application to your assessment when submitting it at the School of Culture and Communication.
Extensions on assessment due during the semester do not need special consideration but the student should supply a medical certificate or other supporting document to verify the need for an extension. This extension is to be negotiated with the subject coordinator; see Extensions.
Responsibilities
Students are responsible for submitting the special consideration application and supporting documentation in a timely manner.
