Course Description

The graduate certificate provides students with a general understanding of key concepts and issues in art history. Students undertaking this short and concentrated program of study will develop valuable skills of analysis and critique. The certificate is an entry point to an articulated structure of higher degree study in art history.

Generic Skills Gained / Objectives

Students who complete the graduate certificate should:

  • develop a knowledge of one or more areas in the study of art history;
  • understand the main theories and concepts relating to these areas of study;
  • demonstrate competency in reading visual images;
  • demonstrate skills in writing about art history.

The minimum entry requirement is:

  • an undergraduate degree in any discipline.
