Screen Studies Masters by research forms
When you are enrolled in a higher degree, you are of concern to a number of administrative bodies:
- School of Culture and Communication
- Faculty of Arts
- Melbourne School of Graduate Research
- Melbourne Scholarships Office
- Student Administration and Systems
For example, if you hold a scholarship and are applying for leave of absence or an extension, you must inform both the Scholarships Office and the body administering your degree, the Faculty of Arts.
Procedure for completing forms
All forms must be signed by yourself and your supervisor and then sent the Research Students Administrator. The Research Students Administrator will have the form signed by the Head of School or Chair of Research & Research Training, and then pass it onto the appropriate body. In this way we can keep our record of your candidature up-to-date.
Please follow this 'form protocol':
- student receives and completes form
- student discusses form with supervisor
- supervisor and student sign form
- form is given to Research Students Administrator (in person or left in pigeonhole)
- Research Students Administrator arranges signatures of Head of School and Chair of Research & Research Training
- Research Students Administrator copies form and files a copy
- Research Students Administrator forwards original to appropriate body and records date form was forwarded
Many of the forms required by Masters by research students are available from the Faculty of Arts Research Students website.
