Art History: Special Consideration
Applications for Special Consideration are submitted online through the Student Information System.
Please read the School of Culture and Communication Special Consideration Policy below, which details how the process operates and what you are required to do as well as applying online through the SIS.
You should apply for special consideration if you think your work has been adversely affected by circumstances beyond your control, such as illness, family responsibilities or emotional disturbance. You should then contact your tutor or lecturer to see if this request has been approved. Such approval will normally take the form of agreeing on a new deadline for the submission of written work. Applications for Special Consideration must be submitted within three days of the due date.
School of Culture and Communication Special Consideration Policy
Students must apply formally for special consideration if they require an extension or other form of consideration for their final piece of assessment.
Extensions on assessment due during the semester do not need special consideration but the student should supply a medical certificate or other supporting document to verify the need for an extension. This extension is to be negotiated with the subject coordinator.
Process
-
Student applies online via the SIS for special consideration.
-
Student submits hardcopy professional documentation to the Arts Faculty Office in the Old Arts Building.
-
Arts Faculty contacts for students to discuss their application and the outcome:
For students enrolled in level 1, 2 or 3 subjects
- Rita Castania, castania@unimelb.edu.au
For students enrolled in level 4 or 5 subjects
- Jessica Rose, jro@unimelb.edu.au
- Annie Howard, ahow@unimelb.edu.au
-
The responsible administrator will email the student advising them formally of the outcome of their application with a copy to the subject coordinator for their assessment records.
-
Student attaches a copy of the email from administrator which approves special consideration and details the new submission date(s) for each assignment, to their essay when submitted.
