Peggy Guggenheim Internship - Venice, Italy

About the Peggy Guggenheim Internship Program

The Peggy Guggenheim internship aims to provide an opportunity for students from different cultures to gain practical experience of museology and familiarity with an important collection of modern art. The successful student will join a group of interns from different countries who learn together in a creative international atmosphere and acquaint themselves with the life and culture of Venice. The internship will be for a period of two months during June and July 2010, beginning on the first of the month and ending on the last day of the following month.

The biennial internship, initiated between the School of Culture and Communication and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection has been made possible by the Palladio Trust Committee.

Students must hold candidature for a postgraduate qualification in the School of Culture and Communication at the University of Melbourne, and must be fluent in written and spoken Italian. Preference will be given to a postgraduate in their early postgraduate years and to those who have an interest in Italian art. The Palladio Trust Committee has agreed to supply the cost of travel between Melbourne and Venice and paid enrolment in the internship program, whilst the Peggy Guggenheim Collection will provide the internship and contribute to the student's living expenses.
