Fine Arts Network
The Fine Arts Network (FAN) is dedicated to fostering art history and the visual arts in Victoria by bringing people together in a range of activities designed to enrich their experience both of art, and of the study of art.
Its activities include:
- organising public lectures, including the annual Joseph Burke and Margaret Manion lectures
- coordination of the European Visual Culture Reading Group
- organising symposia associated with exhibitions
- social events, including dinners with notable visitors
- art-related activities such as Gallery visits and floor talks
- publishing Melbourne Art Journal, an annual journal devoted to scholarly art historical research
- publishing e-maj, and an online postgraduate art history archive
