OrganisersDr Gert ReifarthBorn in the GDR in 1968. Has lectured in German Studies in Ireland and Germany. Joined the University of Melbourne in 2003. Ph.D. thesis about political fairy tales in the GDR and their (aesopic) power to undermine the regime. Research interests include German rock/pop music, modern German poetry, and recent medial representations of Hitler. Wrote and directed a show about Heinrich Heine (2006). Works on a play connecting one of Heracles’ deeds to the Australia of the Pacific solution. His production Tamerlane. A torture opera is intended to premiere at the time of the Aesopic Voices conference.
Mr Philip MorrisseyMr Philip Morrissey is the Academic Coordinator of the Faculty of Arts Australian Indigenous Studies program at the University of Melbourne. He lectures in Aboriginal cultural studies and Aboriginal writing. Philip's principal research interest is Aboriginal urban culture. He has published on Aboriginal fine arts, film, literature, governance, sport and the public sphere. |
